The Newlands story begins in the early 1850’s when Melbourne was only 20 years’ young. Two brothers, James and Archibald Newlands, who were painters by trade, migrated to Australia from Scotland. In 1856, James and Archibald established a family business comprising of painting and wallpapering as well as electrical and plumbing works. Now in it’s sixth generation, David Newlands carries on the family name, company and tradition of 162 years and counting.
